Welcome,
I’m Robert Starsi—Envirobly’s founder.
I built this project to scratch my own itch—to have an application hosting platform, tailored to my needs as a web developer.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have something that can take full advantage of the good parts of the cloud? The instant, on-demand instance provisioning and ability to deploy anywhere in the world, close to your users. With one important consideration: keeping the costs and complexity low.
When I start a project, I expect my bill to be tiny. I don’t want the load balancer, the orchestration engine or the database cost to be in multiples of the price of renting a small server. Yet, I want the simplicity and comfort of a fully managed platform, so that I don’t have to worry about and spend time setting up backups, observability, planning for scaling up or doing OS updates.
That’s where Envirobly comes in. It’s a single, integrated platform, that connects to your AWS account and utilizes it to provision and orchestrate compute, without touching any of the expensive parts. You manage your services in a simple deploy config, similar to Docker Compose. Everything on Envirobly is a container, giving you the flexibility to deploy anything that can be build using a Dockerfile.
Envirobly is a fully bootstrapped, independent business and I want it to stay that way. I’m not seeking venture capital, acquisitions, nor care for the latest hype in the tech industry. I want to run a business that is going to be around 20 years from now, serving you better and compatible with the very first config you started with.
I’d love to have you on board.
Happy deployments,
